本研究手動蒐集台灣上市櫃公司關係人交易資料，以探討關係人交易對公司選任會計師是否產生影響，並進一步依據Kohlbeck and Mayhew (2017)的分類方法將關係人交易分類為高層關係人交易與營運關係人交易，用以檢驗不同類型之關係人交易與公司選任會計師之關聯。本研究發現從事關係人交易之公司傾向選任高品質會計師，即大型會計師事務所或者產業專精會計師，然而進一步將關係人交易分類後，發現從事高層關係人交易之公司傾向選任非大型會計師事務所；相反地，從事營運關係人交易之公司傾向選任大型會計師事務所或者產業專精會計師。整體而言，本研究發現從事高層關係人交易之公司可能為了掩蓋不法之情事或者降低外界的

監督，故傾向選任非大型會計師事務所。另一方面，從事營運關係人交易之公司為了消除外界對於關係人交易的負面觀感，進而傾向選任大型會計師事務所或者產業專精會計師降低外界對於關係人交易的疑慮。本研究實證證據可提供給資本市場投資人、債權人與管制機關參考，可讓財務報表使用者洞察從事關係人交易公司選任會計師類型背後可能因素，有助於擬定最佳的投資、授信決策，並提高管制機關的監管成效。
