論文題目:文字考釋及以偏旁為主的文字分析研究漢字無疑地是漢語最迷人的方面之一,但同時也是誤解最多之處,更是使學漢語的外籍人士放棄中文學習的兩大問題之一。漢字的難度出現於幾不同的地方,例如為何「氵」可當「漢」字的表意成分?為了瞭解「部」字的字形,要分成「亠」、「丷」、「一」、「口」、「阝」,還是「立」、「口」、「阝」,還是「咅」、「阝」?何者才正確?又原因為何?「各」字怎麼能夠作為「路」字的聲符?這些皆是想要學會漢語的人士常常提出的問題。這些問題至今還存在的一個原因是,有足夠知識解決此問題的人士(聲韻學家、文字學家等等)對於教學毫無興趣;而一般瞭解教學的人士對於聲韻學、文字學等學科的了解不足。
因此,本文的研究目的就是要運用文字學、聲韻學、語義學、歷史語言學、考古學、統計學的知識和各種研究方法來徹㡳解決上面所闡述的問題。研究目標在建立一個能夠讓一般人瞭解漢字(即其表音系統、表意系統以及其形體訛變)的分析架構,為了提出解決這種問題的方法,本文將要以十分嚴謹的態度和方法下手,並非以教學為中心。此研究的一部分結果當然可在教學上運用,但其本身屬於嚴謹的、以科學、學術精神為主的研究,故所提出的文字分析架構會先使用在文字考釋上,然後再次使用在如何針對學習者解釋該文字考釋的結果。如所周知最早的漢字分析架構為《說文解字》解字所主張的六書說,歷來的學者從之,但到了甲骨文的發現,以及二十世紀,學者逐漸始
於懷疑。唐蘭不僅加以批評,而提出自己的架構,並稱之為三書。接下來陳夢家指出唐蘭三書之短處,亦提出自己的三書說。最後裘錫圭在唐、陳之基礎上加以修改,並提出新的三書說。目前來說,文字學界尚未出現一個共用的分析架構。有的人還使用傳統六書,不過因為原來的分類不太清楚,不同學者對於六書不同的字類會有不同的理解及定義,而有時同一個種類可能有十分不同的定義,尤其是轉注此類。有一組的學者以較現代、較科學的眼光將六書調整修改,不過結果往往是次類會變多,也會變較複雜。再另一組則會放棄六說,而造出新的架構。上述的這些文字分析架構皆有一個共同點,即均以字的種類為主,都使用同一個方法來解釋各個字的字形,那是說,歸類。目
標是將某個字歸入某個種類,能瞭解不同的字類,便能理解屬於該種類的字。問題是,種類很多,且有的十分複雜,例如詹鄞鑫區分意符有表音作用的會意字,以及聲符有表義作用的形聲字兩種。實際上詹氏解釋非常清楚,儘管有助於學界,對一般人士而言,還是難以掌握。本文主張的分析架構梢微改變角度,集中在偏旁和偏旁的功能上,而不在字的種類上。字的種類相當抽象,偏旁的功能則很具體,例如表音、表意等,且偏旁的功能僅有四種。因此,非專家亦能快速地掌握。此外,以偏旁為主的分析架構亦可用來清楚地描述各個漢字的共時形體。本論文分為五章,及三個附錄。第一章是緒論,也當然探討研究背景和研究動機,再說明本文的研究目的、其所運用的材料及方
法。本論文提出不同以往的文字分析架構,必須便得先徹底瞭解漢字的形音義,故將文獻探討分為形、音、義三章。第二章:「形」方面之文獻探討主要討論文字的考釋、如何看待《說文解字》、歷來的不同文字分析架構,例如傳統六書、現代六書及三書。接下來要研討文字演變之各種現象。第三章:「音」方面之文獻探討有兩個目標:要把握上古漢語的不同概念解釋諧聲系列中的語音變化,亦為了在進行文字考釋時可辨認並合理地及處理各種語音相關的現象,像與諧聲相似的現象,如漢語分期、上古漢語之音節結構、諧聲原則、同音與音近、通假,以及同源詞、詞族、構詞法。第四章:「義」方面之文獻探討,「義」指的是字義,但與字音相同,實際上字義指的不是字的
「語義」,而是該字所記錄的語詞之語義。本章要研究數種不同種對文字考釋很重要的語義,包含本義、引申義、假借義,以及現代基本義。首先描述五部對中國詞書的發展影響宏大又深遠的詞字典,即《爾雅》、《說文解字》、《康熙字典》、《漢語大字典》和《現代漢語規範字典》,其次詳述較新的編排義項的方法,即認知語義學的方法。第五章提出以偏旁為主之文字分析架構,並以此架構描寫字形音義。第六章便運用第五章所主張的文字分析架構來分析「知」字、「智」字的來源與發展,並亦用之來簡潔地列出分析的結果。此章就是從頭到尾集成本文探討的理論、此理論上所造出來的文字分析架構,以及使用此架構在進行文字考釋和表示此考釋的結果。除了上述的五
個章節外,尚有三個研究成果。附錄一:「漢字意符字典」是提供最常3000 多漢字中使用的意符(即形符和義符)之本義、其用為偏旁的其它義項,及以該意符所組成的字,包括619 個意符。附錄二:「諧聲系列中語音變化的公式」提供最常用3000 個字的不同聲符之聲符種類。附錄三:「最常用2000 個字之分析」,即運用本文主張的文字分析架構來分析最常用2000 個字之結果。
