中國自改革開放以來,中國經濟有了很大的發展,國際的影響力亦日益擴大。然而,中國希望藉由2008年舉辦奧運,對其經濟、城市建設與社會現代化發展,建立國家新形象,並以「全球化」的角度,說明中國在崛起後所要面對的問題,與問題背後產生對國家形象的影響性諸如污染、全球暖化等。本研究係以內容分析法,針對國內報紙—《聯合報》、《自由時報》、《蘋果日報》—以2008年中國各類新聞報導為研究對象。研究發現,三報在年度內各類新聞主題中,特別著重報導包括:華南地區雪災、西藏暴動、奧運聖火境外傳遞、四川大地震、兩岸協商三通、2008北京奧運、毒奶事件,及全球金融海嘯議題,以上均是影響中國國家形象的重要因素。此外,國

內媒體傾向以「報社」採訪中國新聞為主,援用「外電」報導來源則相對較少。不同報紙的比較方面,三報在「報導主題」、「報導方向」與「報導所呈現的國家形象」等類目均呈現部分差異結果,而「報導來源」與「敘述形式」此兩項類目則是呈現出明顯差異結果。
