甘露消毒丹是中醫常用的溫病方劑,具有清熱解毒,利濕化濁的功用,常用於治療許多傳染性或是發炎性疾病。根據本實驗的結果,甘露消毒丹可以有效抑制多種刺激劑所活化的人類嗜中性白血球生成超氧自由基, 包含了phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) 、N-formyl-L-methiony-L-leucyl-L-phenylalanine (fMLF)、sodium fluoride、2,4,6-trimethyl-N-(meta-3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-benzenesulfonamide和Leu-Glu-Ser-Ile-Phe-Arg-S

er-Leu-Leu-Phe-Arg-Val-Met 等。甘露消毒丹可以減少fMLF 活化的人類嗜中性白血球表現CD11b 以及黏附作用。甘露消毒丹還能降低PMA 活化的人類嗜中性白血球形成嗜中性白血球胞外陷阱。然而,甘露消毒丹無法影響fMLF 活化的人類嗜中性白血球釋放彈性酶以及移行作用。綜上所述,甘露消毒丹抑制活化的人類嗜中性白血球的黏附、呼吸爆破以及嗜中性白血球胞外陷阱的產生,可能解釋其治療人類嗜中性白血球相關發炎疾病的機轉,並擴展其於臨床上的運用。
